“NO WAY!” @ BEA part 2
When I looked through the extensive author signing list on-line before BEA, I was so excited to see that Shannon Hale would be there promoting her new adult fiction book The Actor and The Housewife while simultaneously promoting her new YA fiction book Forest Born.
I read Austenland (see my review here) last year and quickly became of fan. After recently finishing Princess Academy (review can be found here) and Book of Thousand Days (review coming soon) I just knew that I had to meet her.
Here is my “NO WAY” moment – the lovely Shannon holding up my signed copy of The Actor and the Housewife!
Shannon was really nice and told us that it looks like Austenland is going to be optioned for a movie! I am so glad to see how successful she is becoming and felt honored to meet her. Have you read a Shannon Hale book yet? If not, what are you waiting for?
To find out more about Shannon and her many books, please check out her website!
Who else did I get a signed book from? I got a copy of The Graveyard Book signed by Neil Gaiman, Holly Black’s upcoming book The Poison Eaters and Other Stories and even met Elizabeth Noble who was promoting The Girl Next Door which is due out this December.
Tomorrow stop on by to find out which book bloggers I got to schmooze with (and if my box which I shipped from the convention center arrives on time, I’ll show you some of more of the book goodies I picked up while at BEA)!
You were able to meet Neil Gaiman?! His line was so LONG that I did not even dare try.
I just received Shannon Hale’s book in the mail yesterday. I am hoping I have time to read it before I leave for North Carolina. She is just too cute!
I was able to jump in line – good to have blogger friends in all corners of BEA!
I read Austenland several months ago and liked it. Can not wait to get my hands on The Actor and the Housewife – I read a couple of glowing reviews yesterday in the blogs.
Love your reports from the BEA. Thanks!
I am enjoying your updates Stephanie. It was nice chatting with you. Can you believe it has all come and gone already?
I know – too bad I only got to talk to you for a couple minutes!
I’ve never read a Hale novel. I will check her out. It’s wonderful to meet so many fave authors isn’t it? Great pics.
Shannon Hale is a great writer – you should definitely check out her books!!
OMG You…you met…NEIL GAIMIN???? Oh my gosh. I just hit the floor. I am so…so…jealous. Wow.
Just wow.
I really enjoyed Austenland. I’ll have to see that movie! I wonder who will be “Mr. Darcy!”
Austenland will make such a great movie – I just love romantic comedies!
I’ve only read one Gaiman book (Coraline) so I wouldn’t call myself a fan, although I’ve been wanting to read THe Graveyard Book so why not get it signed, right?
GAIMAN Geez. Can you tell I’m excited? lol
lol, I am laughing at Heather’s comment as I go to write mine!
Very cool that you got to meet all of those authors! 🙂
I haven’t read Austenland, but might have to pick up the new one becuase it has a cute cover. How great that you got to meet Elizabeth Noble.
I enjoyed standing in the Neil Gaiman line with you! It seemed like all of the authors I wanted to see were signing at the same time.
Neil Gaiman was one of three author signatures I got while at BEA. The timing was right, so I went for it.
Oooo! New Holly Black! How exciting!!
It’s all because of Sassymonkey and a broken toe that I fell in love with Shannon Hale. My Monkey lent me two book (Princess Academy and Goose Girl) and I didn’t want to read them, read them because I was laid up with a broken big toe and couldn’t do anything but read and fell head over heels in love with her writing (head over toe?). Happy you were able to meet her and get a book signed!
*kick, kick, kick*. why did i NOT go to BEA? what is wrong with me?!?!?! looking forward to your box of goodies.
There is always next year Natalie!!
Gaiman?!? No way! 😉 Now I’m really jealous.
I haven’t read anything by Shannon Hale yet, but I’ve heard her books are good.
You got a book signed from Neil Gaiman? Wow…I’m impressed 🙂
That sounds like SO much fun! I would just love to have my copy of The Graveyard Book signed. He’s amazing.
