Goodbye Howard

This afternoon, we had to put our beloved cat Howard (shown here with Leah) to sleep. We adopted Howard as an adult stray over nine years ago. He was one of the most loving, sweet and nice cats I have ever known. He was always gentle with my daughters (even when his tail was being stepped on by two little girls) and for that I will be forever grateful.
We were all with him when he passed away. He will be buried in our backyard later today. We will miss you Howard.

SO SAD! We had to put our dog of 17 years down one Christmas, and it was definitely the worst Christmas ever. All we could think about was how we used to wrap presents for Shadow and then sic her on them, and she wasn’t there anymore. It was for the best, because she was so old, and it was nice to be able to sort of ease her into death rather than have her be run over by a car or something, but it was HARD!
You have my sympathy. Pets are always more than just pets, they are family and their loss is felt through the entire household. He had a loving home for the past 9 years and that’s a wonderful thing.

Oh my gosh Stephanie, I am sooo sorry. Losing a pet is so sad. Howard had a good life as part of your family – he was a lucky cat, and of course you guys were lucky to have him too.
I’m so sorry about Howard. We lost our cat back in February after 17 years. It was so hard. It looks like Howard will always have a place within your hearts.
